Hello! Congrats on finishing lesson one I just finished my lesson 1 homework and I wanted to try giving critique using the a guide and some of the things the TA told me! Thank you for your patience
The superimposed lines looks pretty good! All of the wavering is at the end and you're keeping to your starting point. There's no extreme wobbling or bowing in your ghosted lines either! Which is really good. You can tell that you're a little tight and focused on accuracy (me too lol). I suggest a living and let live. When I first did the exercise I was stressed about missing the marks even tho its expressly stated that it'll just happen. So ghost your lines a couple of times and when that pen hits the page let it rip. Fear is the mind killer! It's good stuff since we're both at level one for that exercise!
Your ghosted planes look good as well but the lines are a little wobbly. Remember fear is the mind killer! Draw from your shoulder, ghost the line, put that pen down and let it rip. Tables of ellipses look great. You're clearly drawing through your ellipses, but something i noticed is that it looks like you're stopping precisely after you've drawn through your ellipses twice. Draw through them as many times as you need! I know I did lol. I like that you're focused on consistency in shape rather than accuracy as well! Same goes for your ellipses in planes. My TA says accuracy comes with mileage and honestly I agree lol Your funnel ellipses look good! https://drawabox.com/lesson/1/18/step3 this is something that my TA told me to try next time on warmups to help practice different degrees of ellipses. I will say, I think putting a little more time into Ghosting will keep our ellipses nice and tight. We're having the same issues with them so keep them in your warm up rotation.
Plotted perspective is good! Just the typical slanting legs. I'm sure you already know they should be perpendicular so I'm not gonna harp on that. Rough perspective looks good, but practice those lines. The wobble is back with vengeance. We are cool confident, arteests. Don't worry about accuracy worry about getting a good line and the rest will come. Don't forget to ghost those lines and maybe try using your pinky finger as stabilization! That really helps me. Rotating boxes look fine for the most part! You kept your gaps consistent and drew through your boxes. I can't really say much about what you could do differently cause I honestly struggled with this one lol! I think you did a great job. For your organic perspective I think you did everything right the only thing I would have liked to see is a more cohesive variation in sizes of the boxes! (like them getting smaller at the starting point and bigger as you progress through the line) Convergences are wonky (like me lol) but we're supposed to work on that in the 250 box challenge. I think you got it! Congrats and keep pushing!
Next Steps:
Don't forget your ghosting, your warm ups, and let your arm flow!
