Thank you! ^^
Thank you! ^^
Thank you! :D
Thank you! ^^
Thank you so much for the critique!
Hello!
Congrats on finishing Lesson 1! I’ll be reviewing your submission and I hope you find my feedback helpful.
Superimposed Lines
Most of your lines are smooth and executed with confidence. Good job.
There are a few lines that curved a bit, but it will get better as you practice.
Ghosted Lines
Ghosted Planes
Most of your lines are smooth, straight and executed with confidence. Good job.
Some of your lines wobble a bit like in this image(https://imgur.com/a/gp7SMUc), so be patient with the ghosting method and always draw from your shoulder.
Tables of Ellipse
You prioritized drawing smooth ellipses and executing them with confidence. You also kept your ellipses snugly next to each other and even vary them in degree, sizes, and orientation. Good job.
Some of your ellipses are not touching the top and bottom lines like in this image(https://imgur.com/a/C6pvqXk), you should strive to make your ellipses touch the top and bottom lines and try to be consistent with the degree and orientation of your ellipses in a section. (https://drawabox.com/lesson/1/12/step2).
Ellipses in Planes
You prioritized drawing smooth ellipses and executing them with confidence. Most of your ellipses are also touching the borders, and you draw through them 2-3 times. Well done.
You can add this to your warmups to improve accuracy.
Funnels
Most of your ellipses are nicely aligned to the minor axis and cut the ellipses in 2 symmetrical halves. Good job.
Some of your ellipses are slightly slanted and not aligned to the minor axis like in this(https://imgur.com/a/Ip24WGE).
You can add this to your warmups to get used to aligning ellipses to the minor axis since this exercise will be important for lesson 2.
Plotted Perspective
Rough Perspective
Rotated Boxes
Organic Perspective
Some Reminders:
Keep in mind that confidence takes precedence over accuracy.
Be patient with the exercises. Don't rush and take your time for as long as you need if you think it will help you understand the lessons.
Don’t correct incorrect lines. If you draw an incorrect line, don't draw another line on top of it; instead, keep the line and move on.
Remember the 50% rule. Draw something for yourself as well. This course will take a long time to finish, and you might lose motivation/burn out as a result.
Next Steps:
Proceed to 250 box challenge.
Good luck!
I'm glad to know its helpful.
Heres my feedback for table of ellipses:
Most of your ellipses are smooth and drawn from your shoulder. Well done.
Some of your ellipses wobble a bit, so always draw with confidence, be sure you're drawing from your shoulder, and draw through your ellipses 2-3 times.
Next Steps:
Proceed to 250 box challenge
Good luck!
Hello!
Congrats on finishing Lesson 1! I’ll be reviewing your submission and I hope you find my feedback helpful.
Superimposed Lines
Most of your lines are smooth and executed with confidence. Good job.
There are a few lines that wobbled/curved a bit, but it will get better as you practice.
Some of your superimposed lines have 2 frayed ends. You should place the pen carefully at the beginning of each line, so this does not happen.
Ghosted Lines
Most of your ghosted lines are straight and executed with confidence. Only a few lines curved a bit. Well done.
I would suggest you try ghosting longer lines when you practice this exercise.
Ghosted Planes
Most of your lines are smooth, straight and executed with confidence. Good job.
Some of the lines that bisect the plane doesn’t have a starting dot and an ending dot like this(https://imgur.com/a/qy6qUuf).
You should use the ghosting method and always plot your lines with a start and end dot.
Tables of Ellipse
You prioritized drawing smooth ellipses and executing them with confidence. You also kept your ellipses snugly next to each other and even vary them in degree, sizes, and orientation. Good job.
Some of them looked a bit wobbly, especially the small ones, but it will get better as you practice.
I would suggest you submit 1 more page of table of ellipses before proceeding to the next lesson since the assignment requires 2 pages of table of ellipses, and it would also be good for practice.

You can add this to your warmups to improve accuracy.
Funnels
Most of your ellipses are nicely aligned to the minor axis and cut the ellipses in 2 symmetrical halves. Good job.
Some of your ellipses are a bit wobbly and misaligned like in here(https://imgur.com/a/YPI7hPw)
You can add this to your warmups to get used to aligning ellipses to the minor axis since this exercise will be important for lesson 2.
Plotted Perspective
Rough Perspective
You used one point perspective and your depth lines (those that are meant to converge towards the vanishing point) were converging with the horizon line. Good job.
Some of your lines wobble a bit, so be patient with the ghosting method and always draw from your shoulder.
Rotated Boxes
Organic Perspective

1 page of Table of Ellipses
Thank you :D
Cool! I think this is the reference I used (http://media.techeblog.com/images/inky-cap-mushroom.jpg). I think these mushrooms looked cool ^^;
Table of Ellipses
Your ellipses are still wobbly here.
Remember to prioritize executing them with confidence first and not worry too much about accuracy
Ellipses on Planes
Things to remember when you practice these exercises:
Prioritize drawing with confidence first. When I saw your ellipses on planes, you seem hesitant when you execute your ellipses, and it looked like you drew them a bit slowly to make the ellipse touch the borders of the plane. Drawing slowly will make your ellipses look wobbly.
You should draw from your shoulder, draw with your whole arm, use the ghosting method, and draw through your ellipses 2-3 times. Doing these things will help you execute smooth ellipses. (Things to Remember: https://youtu.be/gyRHkTPqfrQ)
Don’t worry too much about accuracy. Don't worry if your ellipses didn't touch all the borders of the plane because it will get better with practice. What matters most right now is to practice executing your marks with confidence and less hesitation.
Next Steps:
Proceed to 250 box challenge.
Good luck!
Here we're getting into the subjective - Gerald Brom is one of my favourite artists (and a pretty fantastic novelist!). That said, if I recommended art books just for the beautiful images contained therein, my list of recommendations would be miles long.
The reason this book is close to my heart is because of its introduction, where Brom goes explains in detail just how he went from being an army brat to one of the most highly respected dark fantasy artists in the world today. I believe that one's work is flavoured by their life's experiences, and discovering the roots from which other artists hail can help give one perspective on their own beginnings, and perhaps their eventual destination as well.
