    Awesome!

Ok so apparently the main point of this lesson is to get used to drawing strong confident lines and it looks like you nailed that, so well done!

Your ghosted lines looked pretty accurate starting out and got better by the end of the lesson so great work there too.

I think you should keep practicing is the ellipses. You did great in that you drew over at most twice or three times and then lines are quite smooth. Just keep practicing those maybe as a warm-up while you continue on.

The only ones that look off are the rotated boxes and the organic perspective exercise, but they are supposed to be difficult and the main point of those is to just do them, which you did! You should get a better idea of how the boxes should look during/after the 250 box challenge.

    All in all, great job!

    Next Steps:

Practice ellipses as a warm-up. Go for the 250 box challenge. Good luck!

Ah yes I see what you mean. Good luck with the next attempt!

Thank you very much! I agree it's something I have had a problem letting go of, but I'll focus on confidence over accuracy.

    Much appreciated :)

Thank you very much for your feedback!

I agree, I was quite surprised by the awkward feeling of drawing ellipses and I ended up overcompensating. I'll be aware of that and practice them more.

I'll also make more of an effort to focus on good lines over accuracy.

Thanks again for your feedback. I really appreciate it! :D

Super Imposed Lines look good and smooth.

The other links don't seem to be working though.

It's a lot easier to critique work that's collected into an imgur album, so try to post them together :)

    Next Steps:

Group work into an imgur album and check if the links work. I'll check it once it's been updated :)

When finished, reply to this critique with your revisions.

I see you've already had feedback. Congrats on completing this and the 250 box challenge!

I noticed you had similar feedback on the 250 box challenge on wobbly lines. I tend to have the same issue, but try to be aware that the main point is confidence and accuracy comes second. Focus on getting the line straight and confident and the rest will come with time (or so I'm told XD)

I'm only commenting to mark as complete.

    Good luck with lesson 2!

    Next Steps:

250 box challenge already complete. On to Lesson 2!

Hi great job with your submission! Looks like you did pretty well. Apparently the focus of this Lesson is confidence in lines and accuracy comes later. Yours look very confident and quite accurate too so well done.

My only suggestion would be to retry the rotated boxes a bit larger so you can better see the construction of the boxes more easily. It would help you visualise how they should fit together and give you more space to work out the angles.

That being said, I believe that the exercise just needs to be completed, which you did, so I'd say you're good to go. Try it again before the 250 box challenge though. It's quite eye opening and I think it'll help you :)

    Next Steps:

Congratulations! Redo the Rotated Boxes exercise a bit larger and then go for the 250 box challenge!

Congrats! I see you've passed Lesson 1 with the same link in another submission, so I'm just marking this as complete to remove it from the queue.

    Next Steps:

You've already completed this, so keep going strong!

The Art of Blizzard Entertainment

While I have a massive library of non-instructional art books I've collected over the years, there's only a handful that are actually important to me. This is one of them - so much so that I jammed my copy into my overstuffed backpack when flying back from my parents' house just so I could have it at my apartment. My back's been sore for a week.

The reason I hold this book in such high esteem is because of how it puts the relatively new field of game art into perspective, showing how concept art really just started off as crude sketches intended to communicate ideas to storytellers, designers and 3D modelers. How all of this focus on beautiful illustrations is really secondary to the core of a concept artist's job. A real eye-opener.
