Hy. You did well on the exercises:

1: Arrows exercise was good, try to put more depth into them.

2: Textures exercise: You really did well, love it. My textures were a great surprise, I didn't know that I could do so well, I think you fell the same.

3: Form Intersections is really hard, you need to practice that one, try to think more where the objects intersect.

4: Organic Intersections was easier for me than Form intersections, try to use less interior lines and make them more efficient, many of them are straight and this is taking their depth and 3D shape away.

    Go to the next one.

    Good Luck.

    Next Steps:

Just Practice more forms intersections and go to the next.

Hy. Overall, I think you did good but you should remake some exercises, you should do the arrows again and the textures.

First: On the arrows exercise I can see a nice flow but you made very similar lines and movements, you didn't risk different movements, and you did not made the arrows have depth, they still look 2D arrows, think that the arrow is going according to the vanishing point, only that you put the movement(flow) in it.

Second: You don't need to remake the textures exercise but I suggest you to study more, the cast shadows on the Texture analisys looks the same texture.

Third: The Form Intersection Exercise you didn't finished, it is incomplete, you placed the shapes on top of each other but did not draw the intersection between them (Look the video exercise or read again to get it). The organic intersection Is fine but the cast shadow still a little wrong, and gain you did similar shapes and movements, risk something different, challenge your brain.

    Bye and good training.

    Next Steps:

Do the arrows exercises again and finish the form intersection.

    Hy Enzo. First:

You need a pen fineliner 0.5 to do the exercises, may look like won't make a difference but really make.

With pencils you end up using gradation, with the fineline it doesn't happen and it makes a difference in learning how to drawabox.

    Second:

For the first 3 exercises it is good, try to use more the shoulder and the ghost method. I can't see well the last photos, but looks like you hit the points, the ghost method and the shoulder will keep your lines more straight, try to make long lines.

Third: Again, get a pen, the other lessons you won't be able to do without it.

Thanks for the feedback, I really had hard time trying to do the lineweight, I'll look into it. The inner Corners are really hard to do xD, I always thought "Damn, I cant put all of them right!! Arrghh". I'll Put some work on it, thanks.

Overall its good, you need practice and you will get it right.

1 Lines - You need to work with your shoulder, try to start the movement with it, your free hand lines are not straight. Do the ghost technique with controlled movements, not so slow and not so fast. Slow you lost the precision and fast you can't control the end of the line, but better a straight line than a curved one.

2 Elipses - Try to keep the elipses close from the edges, and do only two movements, sometimes you did three. The funnels exercises you didn't do it right. Look the video to understand better.

3 Boxes - Perspective is a problem to everyone and you will learn how to make it right too, some of your freehand boxes lines are more curved, normal, it happens. The rotated Boxes exercises are not completed yet, you need to do the shadow on the boxes. You didn't fully did the organic perspective exercise, you need to cover the lines with another one, leaving all the boxes more prominent.

Tips: First, read the exercises, you are not doing them correctly, don't try to rush. Second: Do the 250 chalenge boxes, you'll become a lot better on perspective, line work and thinking in 3D space. Third: I sugest you to complete the exercises, they have a purpose. Goodbye and Good Training !

    Next Steps:

Try to complete the Funnel Exercise and organic perspective.

I Tought that I knew how to draw with the shoulder, but this video teached me a lot. Thanks.

Drawabox-Tested Fineliners (Pack of 10, $17.50 USD)

Let's be real here for a second: fineliners can get pricey. It varies from brand to brand, store to store, and country to country, but good fineliners like the Staedtler Pigment Liner (my personal brand favourite) can cost an arm and a leg. I remember finding them being sold individually at a Michael's for $4-$5 each. That's highway robbery right there.

Now, we're not a big company ourselves or anything, but we have been in a position to periodically import large batches of pens that we've sourced ourselves - using the wholesale route to keep costs down, and then to split the savings between getting pens to you for cheaper, and setting some aside to one day produce our own.

These pens are each hand-tested (on a little card we include in the package) to avoid sending out any duds (another problem with pens sold in stores). We also checked out a handful of different options before settling on this supplier - mainly looking for pens that were as close to the Staedtler Pigment Liner. If I'm being honest, I think these might even perform a little better, at least for our use case in this course.

We've also tested their longevity. We've found that if we're reasonably gentle with them, we can get through all of Lesson 1, and halfway through the box challenge. We actually had ScyllaStew test them while recording realtime videos of her working through the lesson work, which you can check out here, along with a variety of reviews of other brands.

Now, I will say this - we're only really in a position to make this an attractive offer for those in the continental United States (where we can offer shipping for free). We do ship internationally, but between the shipping prices and shipping times, it's probably not the best offer you can find - though this may depend. We also straight up can't ship to the UK, thanks to some fairly new restrictions they've put into place relating to their Brexit transition. I know that's a bummer - I'm Canadian myself - but hopefully one day we can expand things more meaningfully to the rest of the world.
