T H A N K Y O U and thanks for the feedback, I'm so glad to hear it! Just wanted to say -- I've been doing some other drawing courses online and none of them compare to what you're doing here. Hands down the best art education on the internet.

I went through this response very slowly and carefully. Thank you, it's extremely helpful, and a lot of stuff is clicking. Right now I'm focused on Unit 7 but once I finish that this is definitely what I want to revisit.

Thanks for your feedback, and for not asking me to do this again omg. It was so hard and so boring (but definitely worth it of course!)

Quick question -- can I submit the 25 texture challenge (2 weeks from now) before moving on to the vehicles?

Thank you for this feedback! You're right that I got a big sloppy with the ghosting, and the work with the minor axis bit did seem to escape me somehow for the first section of this challenge.

I'll be sure to address these points in my personal exercises as I move on to section 6.

Ahh thanks for your comments! Glad to hear my efforts paid off. I knew there was something off with those forms that have arbitrary corners, but I was having trouble identifying what it was. That's really helpful, thanks for noting that.

Looking forward to the next challenge!

    Hello,

At long last, here are my lesson 5 revisions https://imgur.com/a/WKptGXU Let me know what you think. I'm happy to do more redraws as necessary.

    Hello,

Thank you so much for putting all this effort into my critique. I wanted to let you know that I'm deeply sitting with your comments and the concepts I missed in this section -- my little brain is working hard on these problems, even when I'm not drawing. It might be a few weeks before I come back with my redraws, but I haven't dropped the ball!!

    Best,

    Hello,

Thanks so much for taking the time to give me this critique, and I'm sorry for the delay in my response. Here are my revisions -- please let me know if there are any enduring issues and I'll be sure to address them.

Thank you so much for this feedback! This is really useful, I'm very grateful. I will work on curbing that habit of redrawing lines. Unfortunately I'm reading this a little late, so I may have done some redrawing on the 250 box challenge, but in general I think it was a lot less than before. Looking forward to submitting that and continuing to advance.

Pentel Pocket Brush Pen

Pentel Pocket Brush Pen

This is a remarkable little pen. I'm especially fond of this one for sketching and playing around with, and it's what I used for the notorious "Mr. Monkey Business" video from Lesson 0. It's incredibly difficult to draw with (especially at first) due to how much your stroke varies based on how much pressure you apply, and how you use it - but at the same time despite this frustration, it's also incredibly fun.

Moreover, due to the challenge of its use, it teaches you a lot about the nuances of one's stroke. These are the kinds of skills that one can carry over to standard felt tip pens, as well as to digital media. Really great for doodling and just enjoying yourself.

I would not recommend this for Drawabox - we use brush pens for filling in shadow shapes, and you do not need a pen this fancy for that. If you do purchase it, save it for drawing outside of the course.
