Oh my goodness, thank you sooooo much for the critique DIO!
I really appreciate this ^.^
Thank you for all the advice, and I will certainly work with this going forward!

Hi There! First, congrats for getting through the lesson. Here is my critique:
Arrows: The arrows look good. Don’t forget perspective, start large and taper smaller. Try keep it consistent. The shading is done on the correct sides too.
Leaves: The leaves look good. Well done on breaking the silhouette of the forms. You could have experimented a bit more in twisting the leaves.
Branches: Your branches show confident lines and connect well between ellipses. The ellipses show a gradual change in angle. Some of the forms are a bit narrow is areas, but practice makes perfect.
Plants: Your plants look great! I can see careful consideration for the construction of the various forms.
Very well done on this exercise. Of course, keep doing Lesson 1 warmups as you are heading through the next lesson.
Next Steps:
Continue to lesson 4.
Hi There! First, congrats for getting through the lesson. Here is my critique:
Arrows: The arrows look okay. Don’t forget perspective, start large and taper smaller. Try keep it consistent. Bear in mind that shading is done is done on the INSIDE bend.
Leaves: The leaves look good! I can see you played around a bit with twisting the leaves. Try push a bit more to add silhouette and break the boundary to add some form of texture.
Branches: Your branches have confident lines. There is slight scratchy lines as you connect the lines, but practice makes perfect. Try drawing different size branches next time.
Plants: Your plants look great! I can see carful consideration for the construction of the various forms. Try do the cast shadows by means of solid black areas. Try not to do hatching, like cross hatching to show shading.
Very well done on this exercise. Of course, keep doing Lesson 1 warmups as you are heading through the next lessons.
Next Steps:
Continue to lesson 4.
Hi There! Hope I’m not too late in giving some feedback. Here is my critique:
Arrows: Your lines are confident. Shading is shown on the correct bends. You kept good proportion and followed foreshortening techniques.
Leaves: The leaves look good. You could have experimented a bit more in twisting the leaves. Well done on breaking the silhouette of the forms.
Branches: Your branches show confident lines and connect well between ellipses. The ellipses show a gradual change in angle. Well done.
Plants: Well done on your plants! Your construction looks great. Again, some of the leaves could have been a bit more twisted to add a more dynamic feel to the plant.
Else Very well done on this exercise. Of course, keep doing Lesson 1 warmups as you are heading through the next lessons.
Next Steps:
Continue to lesson 4.
Hi There! First, congrats for getting through the lesson. Here is my critique:
Arrows: The arrows look good. Don’t forget perspective, start large and taper smaller. Try keep it consistent.
Leaves: The leaves look great! I can see you added form to the edges of the leaves. The twist in the leaves looks correct. Try not add cast shadow, instead of outlining textural forms.
Branches: Branches: Well done on the branches! Your ellipses changed angle where appropriate and were kept consistent. Your line strokes look confident as well.
Plants: Your forms are well drawn. Cast shadows are drawn nicely to depict texture.
Very well done on this exercise. Of course, keep doing Lesson 1 warmups as you are heading through the next lessons.

Continue to lesson 4.

Oh thank you! XD sorry for not replying sooner.
Hello there! First, congrats for getting through the lesson, and the 250 Box Challenge before that. Here is my critique:
ORGANIC ARROWS:
Generally smooth lines, while some have a slight wobble. Also try keep the consistency from larger to smaller, as the arrow gets further away.
ORGANIC FORMS WITH CONTOUR LINES:
Well done with the ellipses, I can see you have given thought to the angle of the ellipses along the axis. Try going slightly slower with a bit more of a controlled motion and remember the ghosting method. The contour ellipses look great, although there is a sight wobble at times.
TEXTURE ANALYSIS:
Your texture exercises look great, one can clearly see the cast shadows. One thing though is that in your analyses, you can clearly see a black rectangle on the left when it should be a smooth transition.
DISSECTIONS:
Again, your textures look okay, and you've done a good job wrapping them around the forms and expressing their silhouettes, though the light-dark transitions are stronger in some than in others. Else I can see you have also broken the silhouette which gives it more texture.
FORM INTERSECTIONS:
Although some of your lines here have a wobble to them, your shapes are solid and your intersections appear to make sense. Also, don’t draw over the same line too many times as it looks scratchy and might get confusing on which was your original stroke.
ORGANIC INTERSECTIONS:
Try not to do scratching lines when outlining the form. Else, great job with these, I have nothing more to say.
Very well done on this exercise. Of course, keep doing Lesson 1 warmups as you are heading through the next lessons.

Continue onto Lesson 3 - Applying construction to plants.
Hello there! Firstly, I see your work hasn’t yet been critiqued in a while. I hope I am not too late and that my feedback can be of some help. Congrats for getting through the lesson, and the 250 Box Challenge before that. Here is my critique:
ORGANIC ARROWS:
Generally smooth lines, while some have a slight wobble. Try keep the consistency from larger to smaller. Try putting a darker edging on the edge that faces you, where the shadow lies. The shadow should fall in the inside of the bend (not the outside part of the bend) Try make the arrows thicker and not so skinny, as it will be easier to work with them.
ORGANIC FORMS WITH CONTOUR LINES:
(Please post these 2 pages.)

Else, very well done on this exercise. Of course, keep doing Lesson 1 warmups as you are heading through the next lessons. Please submit those 2 missing pages Contour Ellipses page and Contour Curves page, before I can mark any further.

Hello there! I see your work hasn’t yet been critiqued in a while. I hope I am not too late and that my feedback can be of some help. First, congrats for getting through the lesson, and the 250 Box Challenge before that. And yes, the texture analysis is very daunting at first, but don’t let it scare you away. If you follow the instructions on how to analysis a texture, you will learn with time how an object casts a shadow and how to show that form through texture. Here is my critique:
ORGANIC ARROWS:
Smooth, confident lines all around here. One thing though is that your shading at the bends seems to clash at times with perspective. Logically the closest bit (the bigger one) should be the one casting shade on the farthest bit (the smaller one).
ORGANIC FORMS WITH CONTOUR LINES:
Well done on keeping the ellipses perpendicular to the axis. The ellipses are also well drawn. I can also see the degree of change in angle on the ellipses as the form bends. Your contour lines look great, although at times they are a bit straight instead of more curved.
TEXTURE ANALYSIS:
Your texture exercises look okay. One thing though is that in your analyses, you can clearly see a black rectangle on the left when it should be a smooth transition.

Right from when students hit the 50% rule early on in Lesson 0, they ask the same question - "What am I supposed to draw?"
It's not magic. We're made to think that when someone just whips off interesting things to draw, that they're gifted in a way that we are not. The problem isn't that we don't have ideas - it's that the ideas we have are so vague, they feel like nothing at all. In this course, we're going to look at how we can explore, pursue, and develop those fuzzy notions into something more concrete.
