wow the leaves are well done with variety and as for the arrows 1st and 2nd page has some weird turns so for that look at this video:-

    https://youtu.be/ptV6MOWSaYA

Branches also very well done, so not much for me too say here.

the construction of plant is well done and seems you have understood the purpose of the exercise.

the cactus have a bit of 3d problem so for that look at my cactus here:-

    Arrows:-

you are doing arrows wrong, u are not keeping perspective in mind the further something is the smaller it is the closer it is the bigger it is.

    check this link:-

    https://youtu.be/icWl_jpJres

    and redo this exercise.

the leaves and others are well done enough.

    Branches:-

branches for proper branches make sure u draw ellipses 90 degrees to the flow line that wat it will be better.

    Next Steps:

redo the arrow exercise and send it here to be checked. and go through the drawabox arrow exercise video and written material again.

When finished, reply to this critique with your revisions.

    Arrows:-

    arrows are well done

    Sausages with ellipse and contour:-

you drew them equally but you drew to many ellipse the purpose of this exercise is to only make u understand 3D so make only 3 ellipse thats it for that same with the contouring.

    Texture:-

texture well done you drew cast shadows which is what we want.

    Texture on sausages:-

here the problem is in the first page where u should have drawn only cast shadows denser at the edges but fainter when you go towards the middle but you corrected that in after dawings so thats fine.

2nd texture top left of the sheet looks flat the crevices shadows are not made around the sausage contour

and u forgot that the center will be seen as well. since it is a sliced cucumber like shape.

the rest is done well, intersection exercise was hard to begin with so, i will just say if u have a bit of problem check this link:-

    https://youtu.be/7ccsCsmov1U

my final note:- make sure to practice sausages before doing any drawing since its very important in the coming chapters. and goodluck.

you can move on to next lesson.

you did your exercise very good but somethings,

the extended branches needs to be drawn properly:-

    https://drawabox.com/lesson/3/2/exercisebranches

look closely the braches hav a thin width when branching out so, for that make sure you draw ellipse close then draw circle over them not the circle first!

for the plants construction you understood the purpose of exercise.

    but good job overall

The Art of Brom

The Art of Brom

Here we're getting into the subjective - Gerald Brom is one of my favourite artists (and a pretty fantastic novelist!). That said, if I recommended art books just for the beautiful images contained therein, my list of recommendations would be miles long.

The reason this book is close to my heart is because of its introduction, where Brom goes explains in detail just how he went from being an army brat to one of the most highly respected dark fantasy artists in the world today. I believe that one's work is flavoured by their life's experiences, and discovering the roots from which other artists hail can help give one perspective on their own beginnings, and perhaps their eventual destination as well.
