Apologies for the long wait, college was a pain but I managed to draw the revisions. https://imgur.com/a/dCtJBIj

It was rather difficult to slow down as you suggested but I do feel like they look better than what I drew before. Have a nice day and Happy Easter/Holidays!

Alrighty, did as you asked, hopefully I did better. Thank you for the quick response! It was helpful to see what I did wrong especially at the textures.

I have to agree with everything you said, especially about the leaves and branches exercises, I feel like I had a tough time to visualize branches with the ellipses.

As for the plants I feel like I could of definetely done better, but I have to admit, I don't usually draw plants, other than this lesson, I have drawn plants properly years ago.

Thank you so much for the review! I would only ask a quick thing, what exercises do you recommend? Maybe just draw some more branches, from imagination or from reference?

Hello! No worries about it, thank you so much for the time you put into checking my progress. Everything you commented on was on point, some of them were things I thought about myself, but so many others were things that didn't cross my mind! I'm sorry for not making the paper texture analysis, I really just forgot about it.

The organic arrows are a little tricky for me, because I often concentrate too much on making it big or small, but not make it into a smooth transition. I'll definitely think about it more as I do exercises like this one.

As for the dissection exercises, shadows are something I struggle with, same with the texture going around the form, but same as before, I hope I did a better job than before. I hope to hear from you again, and once again, thank you for checking my progress on the lesson. Have a wonderful day!

The Art of Brom

The Art of Brom

Here we're getting into the subjective - Gerald Brom is one of my favourite artists (and a pretty fantastic novelist!). That said, if I recommended art books just for the beautiful images contained therein, my list of recommendations would be miles long.

The reason this book is close to my heart is because of its introduction, where Brom goes explains in detail just how he went from being an army brat to one of the most highly respected dark fantasy artists in the world today. I believe that one's work is flavoured by their life's experiences, and discovering the roots from which other artists hail can help give one perspective on their own beginnings, and perhaps their eventual destination as well.
