Hi here is the revision I had to do:https://imgur.com/a/J1JU4An

Also the picture linked here: https://imgur.com/HkexnAs isn't actually mine so I just wanted to clarify if the notes on my second part of the 250 cylinder challenge still apply?

Thanks so much for the cirt and for being patient with me!

Hi here is the cirt: https://imgur.com/a/jyYq4rN

I decided to redo a rhino from the first submission since I thought there were a lot of additional forms that I can practice .It was harder then I expected it to be and I got a bit lost with all of forms and tried to clean it up with lineweight.

Also for intersections I think I was confused since lesson 4 on what they were supposed to be.Thats was definitely on me for not asking and not rereading intersection of homework again but still.I made sure that I do them this time and added a bit of linewight since there arent that visible.

Hope that image quality is good.

Hi sorry that you had to wait a bit, life was a bit busy.

Here is the part of the crit : https://imgur.com/a/tR2gbQE

Hope that image quality is good.I broke down forms in photoshop so that I had some sort of guide when doing forms on paper and also tried to apply things that you've said.

Hi I will be doing your 250 box critique.

To start of all of your boxes are drawn very confidently, its clear that you used ghosting method for all of your lines and that you drawn from the shoulder.Hatching is also done correctly with lines going trough one end to the another smoothly.Great job on that! Although line weight is optional and isn't required you should at least try to do it,I say this because it is going to be important for the later lessons down the line.

Your convergence and extensions are also mostly good. While most of your boxes are converged correctly I think there is a consistency problem. While the boxes 1-50 are good, from boxes 50-90 there are a lot of parallel lines and diverging lines, after those your converging became much better.Remember that boxes are ALWAYS going to converge in 3d space and they will NEVER be parallel. If you are ever unsure how to converge lines in space please remember this tutorial : https://imgur.com/3zoQA65 .

One thing that also helped me out a lot with this problem is thinking about the planes of the box as pares and not as separate lines, specifically how they interact with each other and VPs. https://imgur.com/a/DHlA3Jh .

Some smaller mistake I also want to point out are that boxes 27-35 are a bit extreme, generally you will mostly draw boxes that are a bit more shallow. There are also some boxes in the beginning that are really similar to each other, while this problem is mainly solved by the end if you ever catch yourself drawing the same box over and over again please refer to : https://imgur.com/Kqg6uMX as a reference. And for the inner corner of your boxes its also a bit inconsistent which is normal and will probably be less of a problem when you start thinking about them as pares, but still if you find yourself troubled a good way to improve the inner corner is by drawing it before the last line : https://imgur.com/a/DHlA3Jh .

Overall you did a really good job on this exercise and its clear that you put a lot of effort in it which shows in your work.Good luck with lesson 2!

Your lines did improve since the first submission, good job on that! One thing tho,you still run into a problem of repeating lines and some of the arrows do look a bit wobbly.Again, take the time that you need. While line weight is off like you've mentioned it is getting more confident just try to not repeat lines when you mess up.

Organic intersection is also definitely better,in later lessons you are gonna work more with 3d form and how it interacts with space since you are only introduced to this concept now. It's gonna take some time before you understand it well so don't worry to much about it for now.

    Next Steps:

Add lesson 2 to your warm up pool and practice confident line and line weight.Good luck with lesson 3

Hi I will be doing your lesson 1 critique.

Your supper imposed lines are pretty good. They are very confidant and fraying is only at the end as it should be and arching is minimal.Good job!

For ghosted lines, while they some of them are a bit off overall they are also drawn confidently using ghosting and without arching.Keep that up and remember that you should always prioritize confidence over accuracy.

Ghosted planes are also for the most part good. While there is some wobble that you should be aware of most of the lines are executed with confidence.

Tables of ellipses, now with this one there is a lot more wobble then in the line section.Remember to take your time when making a mark. Its okay if you need to ghost a few more times before putting a final mark and remember to draw from shoulder. While looking at other exercises I see that you do improve at them but I still need you to redo this one since this is a common issue in your work.

Ellipses in planes have the same mistake as the tables but a lot more of the ellipses look confidant and for the most part they are in their boundaries.

Funnels have the similar mistake, one thing I would also like to mention is that you dont change a degree of your ellipses which isnt a big problem now but you should be aware of it for later lessons.

    Plotted perspective looks good!

Now rough perspective is for the most part fine, but I see that a lot more of lines start to become more wobbly.Remember that confidant line is always going to be better than an accurate wobbly line. And take time with executing them, ghost slowly so you can make a clear confidant mark.

Rotated boxes are really good, good job on this one!

Organic perspective is also very well drawn, overall flow of the boxes is pretty good, there is a nice box variety and for the most part your boxes are executed with confidence.Good job on this one!

    Next Steps:

1 page of tables of ellipses

When finished, reply to this critique with your revisions.

Hi I think you should start draw a box again from lesson 1 since there are a lot of things that changed in 2 years, also you didnt finish lesson 1

The Art of Brom

The Art of Brom

Here we're getting into the subjective - Gerald Brom is one of my favourite artists (and a pretty fantastic novelist!). That said, if I recommended art books just for the beautiful images contained therein, my list of recommendations would be miles long.

The reason this book is close to my heart is because of its introduction, where Brom goes explains in detail just how he went from being an army brat to one of the most highly respected dark fantasy artists in the world today. I believe that one's work is flavoured by their life's experiences, and discovering the roots from which other artists hail can help give one perspective on their own beginnings, and perhaps their eventual destination as well.
