Wow, that's definitely more than I expected. (A surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one.)

The write up is really good. I'll probably read it again when I start drawing textures. Also, your explicit feedback on some of my textures is immensely helpful. Thank you.

    All the best, Tofu! :^)

Thank you so much for your critique. Please forgive me - I assume you must be very busy - but I do have a question.

Regarding the texture exercises, I must admit that I was hoping to get some more positive feedback. I've spent a lot of hours on those exercises, and I tried really hard to draw the right type of shadows. However, judging from your feedback, I obviously failed to do so, and I do completely trust in your feedback.

If you find some time, could you maybe elaborate a bit more? Since I did enjoy the texture parts quite a bit, I will be trying out the 25 texture challenge im the near future, and I want to give it my best.

    Thank you for your time.

Thank you very much for the critique!

About the point with convergence in pairs... it's not that I don't know about this. The problem is simply inaccuracy when placing the corners of the box, which sort of snowballs when you get early ones slightly wrong. As you said, I just need more practice to be consistent, and that's exactly what I will be doing.

So again, thank you for your feedback! I do really appreciate it.

Thank you so much for the detailed feedback, and thank you for replying so quickly!

Rather than me going into detail on each of your points, I'll just say that I understand the feedback very well, that I will work on improving the mentioned points in my warm-ups, and that I will of course do my best to avoid making these mistakes in future homework assignments.

Again, I really appreciate your message. It gives me a lot of courage and motivation to continue.

Color and Light by James Gurney

Color and Light by James Gurney

Some of you may remember James Gurney's breathtaking work in the Dinotopia series. This is easily my favourite book on the topic of colour and light, and comes highly recommended by any artist worth their salt. While it speaks from the perspective of a traditional painter, the information in this book is invaluable for work in any medium.
