Hello, congratulation on finishing lesson 1. I'll be only pointing out the thing that needs to be improved and Here are my observations:

    1. Superimposed Lines

The only issue I saw here is that a lot of your line has stray on both end, so make sure to taking the time to position your pen correctly at the starting point of your guideline.

    1. Ellipses In Planes

Take your time to ghost your ellipses before executing them because I see a lot of your ellipses feel wobbly, You should submit the homework for ghosted planes and ellipses in plane separately, so it's much easier for me to check your homework.

    1. Funnels

You're doing good in this excercise, Try to get the degree of your ellipses to increase as you move outwards from the center.

    1. Rough Perspective

Make sure to take your time to ghost the lines before executing it because I see some of the lines feel wobbly,

    1. Organic Perspective

This is just a suggestion, establish your box hierarchy by adding line weight so it's much easier for me to check your homework.

Hello, congratulation on finishing lesson 1. I'll be only pointing out the thing that needs to be improved and Here are my observations:

    1. Ghosted Lines

Some of the lines here are arching or curved, Make sure to use your shoulder when execute the line and try to arch consciously to the opposite direction.

    1. Ghosted Planes

I see some of the sides of the plane have repeated line, it seems like you trying connect the line that doesn't meet the endpoint or you trying to fix your line. Make sure try to execute your line in one go, remember confidence flow over accuracy, and don't try to fix your line, keep it as it is no matter how bad you wanna fix it.

    1. Ellipses

Make sure to draw through ellipses 2 to 3 times, (2 times preferably). The other issue I see here is the gap between the lines of the ellipses is too wide but that is okay since is to be expected, that the more you do this as warm-up, the more your ellipses wil tighten up.

    1. Boxes

For the boxes section exercise, I'm not sure if you were trying to make the lines thicker or fix them, if it's the former then practice superimposed lines with ghosting more, if it's the latter then don't do that. Keep the line even if it's bad no matter how bad you wanna fix it. I see correction fluid being used in this excercise, if you use this to make correction to your homework than you better not be, because making mistake is the core element of this whole course so if you try correct some of your mistake you will losing the most important one.

    1. Ghosted Lines

Try to focus more on confident flow over accuracy because your line almost always hits both ends, but many of them feel wobbly.

    1. Ghosted Planes

I'd recommend varying the quadrilaterals more. In your submission, a lot of your quads are rectangular-ish. Make some weird trapezoids or kite shapes when you come back to ghosted planes in the future, it'll test you in more odd scenarios. You should submit the homework for ghosted planes and ellipses in plane separately, so it's much easier for me to check your homework

    1. Ellipses

For Ellipses section my only concern is in the funnel exercise, some of your ellipses in this excercise doesn't align to the minor axis. You want to make sure that the minor axis cuts each ellipse into two equal, symmetrical halves, down their narrower dimension. Next time make sure to allign your ellipses to the minor axis.

    1. Rough Perspective

For the Rough Perspectives, make sure to ghost your lines before executing it because I see some of your line feel wobbly. 1. Lines

Some mistakes that you made in this section is expected, just keep do this excercise as warm up and you will get better at it :). You should submit the homework for ghosted planes and ellipses in plane separately, so it's much easier for me to check your homework.

    1. Ellipses

I see some of your ellipses being overdrawn, make sure to draw through it only 2 to 3 times, (2 times preferably). For the funnel excercise, keep your ellipses snugly against one another - don't leave large spaces between them.

    1. Boxes

For the Rough Perspectives, make sure to ghost your lines before executing it because I see some of your line feel wobbly and for the Organic Perspective, make sure to connect your lines because i see a lot of your boxes have disconnected lines that makes the box lose the sense of their solidity.

Thank you so much for taking the time to go through my revision. I'll keep in mind your advice for the next time I do the exercise. Thank you!

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind.

I have a question regarding adding additional masses, When should I use a group of small additional masses and when should I use the big mass?

Thank you so much for the feedback, I appreciate it. What you said in the feedback is true, I'm not taking my time to do the assignment, so I think I'm gonna go over the lesson again to refresh my mind.

Hello, congratulation on finishing lesson 2. I'll be only pointing out the thing that needs to be improved and Here are my observations:

    1. Organic Arrows

I've seen some of your line weight run along the whole arrow or the whole section of planes, Lineweight should only be added to the part that overlaps as well, it is not needed to add lineweight to the full line. Please be mindful of your hatching lines, hatching lines are not second-class lines, and we should treat them with the same care as our construction lines.

Here I made a diagram to make things clearer :)

    1. Organic Forms with Contour Lines

I don't have any issue with this exercise, just a suggestion for the organic form with contour curves. When you try to nail the curves try ghosting them in full ellipse or circle, so you have a sense of how the line wraps around the form.

    1. Texture Analysis

Try to avoid using lines, instead try to approach it this way.

Don't scribble, I've seen a lot of your shapes are filled in with scribbles or kind of hatching lines and I think it's because you try to achieve some kinda mid-tone or halftone. We only try to capture the cast shadow here, no shading and we use ink here so your option is only black or white, you need to decide which part is the cast shadow (pitch black) and which one is not (pure white). Ink is not the right tool to achieve form shading.

    1. Dissection

A lot of your texture is flattened the form underneath it and I think it's because you're not breaking enough of the silhouette. Be more considerate of your mark, you put too much information on the texture by using dots and lines, focus on the cast shadow. Remember less is more.

    1. Form Intersection

Try to keep your form equilateral and try not to use the donut form. Line weight only be done with 1 line, no more so the line weight is not overdone and Lineweight needs to be done with a confident, ghosted line.

    1. Organic Intersections

Remember to hook around your contour curve because it helps to understand how the form exists in space. The cast shadows have to follow the form of the object they're being cast on, not the form of the object that casts it.

I think that's all from me, I hope my feedback can be a help. With this I will mark your lesson as complete. Congratulations :)

Cottonwood Arts Sketchbooks

These are my favourite sketchbooks, hands down. Move aside Moleskine, you overpriced gimmick. These sketchbooks are made by entertainment industry professionals down in Los Angeles, with concept artists in mind. They have a wide variety of sketchbooks, such as toned sketchbooks that let you work both towards light and towards dark values, as well as books where every second sheet is a semitransparent vellum.
