Thank you for your understanding and your time. It took a while but i went through the instructions again. Basically it's the amount of one page put on two .

I see what you mean, but i was looking for more detailed advice on the boxed cylinders so i can improve them or some hidden concept that i was missing. That is worth doing them over. Just to grind them to get a better feel is not worth my time now. To me these boxed cylinders in this form take too long.

It took me 6 Months for the boxed ones only. You just asking too much of me at the moment.

Overall thank you for your critique, but i don't see how the correction lines would make any difference when the important factor is how good i fit the circles inside the box and how good the box was.

Because the box dictates the form of the cylinder, so if could not fit it inside correctly it will be incorrect anyway.

Some of the distortions happened after a longer break and the mistakes are obvious to me the moment i make them, on the correction method well i posted my boxed cylinders in the discord and asked if how i checked was correct, because i was not sure, but it got ignored. So i went to check finished cylinder challenges with critiques and my method seemed fine.

I don't know why you keep repeating things about memorization of each position, that was never the point.

I can see why you want me to repeat some boxed cylinders so i do the correct error checking method but 50 is way too much, honestly i don't see how extending the incorrect cylinder line would help me if it was already fitted incorrectly. So i would base my next box on the errors of the not correctly placed cylinder of the current box.

I would understand if i would draw a box around some cylinders but thats not the case.

Please explain it to me in another way because i don't see your point you are making.

Thank you for your critique, i tried to keep this things in mind while doing these constructions and also i thought full body constructions would be the best suited for that.

I'm not entirely sure about the empty space, but i tried to do the drawings bigger but sometimes it turns out smaller than i imagine, like with the platypus just now. And before i cram in a smaller drawing in i rather draw a bigger one.

Just gonna give u my thoughts, dont count this as the sec critique u requested.

    arrows look good

On the leaves i would say you should try to go for a more 3d ones, some seem too 2d, ik sometimes it doesnt work out but thats alright.

Your construction seem solid too me, but their are a bit small, so its harder to judge the perspectives, but nr 10 and 16 look pretty good.

    Hello

i must commend you on doing such a good job in this challenge.

There isn't really much to critique on except that numbering would have been nice and sometimes the divergence of some boxes are parallel, i know that can happen while doing so many boxes and going for a more narrow divergence invites such mistakes, so just keep it in mind.

    Good luck with lesson 2

You really did a good job on these boxes, also your lines seem really confident and pretty good. So keep that up even if its not perfect all the time. So don't redo lines.

Only one thing kinda stands out to me is that you should have put in more variations in the perspectives, you could have done that with some more boxes with stronger foreshortening.

I can recommend you doing the additional box exercises. https://drawabox.com/lesson/250boxes/2

Its not a must do and you are already have a good hang of them, but if you are in between lessons and waiting for critique you can try it out.

And good luck going forward to lesson 2.

    Hello,

nice job on finishing the challenge, gonna try to give you some helpful critique.

First things first, your extending lines should never go in the directions of the viewer and you got it most of the time but when your view is from looking up to the box you you extend it in the wrong direction (doesn't really matter if you extend through your other boxes or the page cuts off). You can see it on the box 144 and 145 pretty good, sometimes its more neutral like on box 128.

So if you look up to a box your extending lines should also go up.

A way to make sure you do this correctly 100% of the times, is to always extend the lines away from the center dot of the Y, as shown here:https://imgur.com/iNpIubA

Good that you started with the hatching and the line lineweight. Your lines in general are pretty good, just don't try to redo lines just let them be.

Also your box rotations are pretty much the same the last 4 pages or so, but overall its good.

You really improved your boxes over this challenge and nothing really else stood out to me, they fell much more solid now.

So i can recommend you doing the additional box exercises. https://drawabox.com/lesson/250boxes/2

Hi and well done on sticking through the first lesson.

General through the whole exercise you got a little better with your line confidence, but you should definitely use your warm up sections to get some of your whobbeling out of your lines. And on that note even if you make some mistakes you don't need to redraw anything just keep it as it is. (its just practice)

Also i saw it on your ghosted planes with ellipses but not so much on the Tables of ellipses, stick to drawing through circles/ellipses only 2-3 times.

Onto some more specific exercise things, on the ghosted planes page you could have used the space a better and filled it out.

You should get used to doing smaller lines with your shoulder too. Also you forgot to add the middle lines through your planes.

So on the page with the rotated boxes, you started out good but you should have kept the corners of the underside closer together so the rotation of the overall form would be more noticeable.

So thats it with the nagging, i only mentioned what stood out to me, but you did overall a good job on sticking to the lesson instructions.

You can move on to the 250 box challenge its quit and undertaking but its worth it for your lines and understanding of 3d space will improve. I can recommend doing ghosted planes and super imposed lines for warm ups.

So good luck for whats coming next and i hope this was helpful.

These are what I use when doing these exercises. They usually run somewhere in the middle of the price/quality range, and are often sold in sets of different line weights - remember that for the Drawabox lessons, we only really use the 0.5s, so try and find sets that sell only one size.

Alternatively, if at all possible, going to an art supply store and buying the pens in person is often better because they'll generally sell them individually and allow you to test them out before you buy (to weed out any duds).
