Damn, I probably did It by mistake????. How can i fix this?
Damn, I probably did It by mistake????. How can i fix this?
Thank you! Your critique helped me a lot before and ill make sure to keep your advice in mind.
Lines still need some work, they are way too wobbly in the ghosted lines exercises, try to take your time and draw them confidently. Ghosted planes are good, you missed the center of the planes in the first page but did it nicely in the second one. Superimposed lines will need work, give it some attention and it will improve.
Ellipses are actually pretty good, but you still need to keep the ellipses aligned with the minor axis. One trick that might help with ellipses is to make sure your forearm is aligned with the minor axis while you draw them.
Plotted perspective is good. Nice work with the rough perspective, it's easy to miss a lot in this one, also you managed to keep the width lines parallel to the horizon line and the height perpendicular to the horizon. The boxes in rotated boxes and organic perspective still needs a lot of work, but you will draw plenty in the 250 box challenge.
I was going to ask one more page of ghosted lines, but just make sure to give them some attention in your warmups, try to draw as many as you can in one page and you will improve a lot faster.
Have fun with the boxes.
Next Steps:
Proceed to the box challenge.
Good job, your convergences improved a lot, your lines took a little longer and arent still that good. If you had put more effort in the hatching, trying to use straight lines to shade one face of the boxes, you would have improved your lines a lot. But they are good.
Nice work keeping some notes and thinking on how you could do better, I noticed you worked on some line weight too, they aren't super accurate but have improved a lot too, but i noticed sometimes you have put them in the wrong place, just remember to add the weight in closest lines to the viewer.
Next Steps:
Proceed to lesson 2.
Nice work with organic arrows, just try to make more confident lines.
Try to vary more the angle of your ellipses in the organic forms with contours, also try to not go overboard with it.
Nicely done with your textures. Forms intersections looks fine too!
Next Steps:
Proceed to lesson 3
Nice work with the arrows, not much to say about it, just keep practicing.
Contour lines and ellipses are incomplete, you still need to send the contour lines page. But the ellipses page are nice, good work with the degrees of the ellipses.
You forgot to send texture analysis page.
Great work with dissections, just try to avoid using lines, you still used sometimes.
One page of intersections needed to be only with boxes, good work but various intersections are wrong, try to take your time to think about how each form intersects.
Good work on organic intersections.
Nice work. Just submit the missing pages and you are ready to lesson 3 :)
Next Steps:
1 page of forms with contour lines
1 page of texture analysis
Great work.
The only things I have to say that is that your organic arrows are a little wobbly, in contour lines you used too much contour, try to not go overboard about it, also try to focus on the shapes of the shadows only when doing the textures of the course(avoid using lines).
Besides from that your homework is really good, you did nice in the intersections part, specifically organic intersections, your textures are reaaaly good, overall great job.
Have fun with lesson 3
Your lines are pretty good actually!
About the boxes, you improved a lot but the main problem i see is the dramatic foreshortening in many of them. Try to thing about the vanishing points of the boxes a little but more distant from the boxes, but still aim for the convergence and you will see that in your level, you will probably make many less mistakes.
Next Steps:
Proceed to lesson 2.
Nice, here is my view on the exercises now:
You redid some lines in organic perspective, try to avoid it, make sure you take your time before making each mark and if you fail, don't try to fix it. Confidence above accuracy.
Rough perspective is better, just make sure the width lines are parallel to the horizon line and the height is perpendicular to the horizon.
Plotted perspective is nice but try to make the line till the point, don't finish them in the middle.
Practice that in your warmups, but give some attention to practicing your lines using ghosted planes.
Have fun with the box challenge :)
Next Steps:
proceed to the box challenge.
Thanks, Elodin! You helped me to understand these exercises better.
I have to admit, i failed to really fix my errors in these new pages. Superimposing curves was really hard, i admit i haven't practiced it too much, but now I'm gonna give this more attention. Ellipses and their minor axis are still a struggle for me, but I've tried my best. And I tried my best to maintain the sausage forms proportional but it seems i still need some practice.
Here is the results:
Like the Staedtlers, these also come in a set of multiple weights - the ones we use are F. One useful thing in these sets however (if you can't find the pens individually) is that some of the sets come with a brush pen (the B size). These can be helpful in filling out big black areas.
Still, I'd recommend buying these in person if you can, at a proper art supply store. They'll generally let you buy them individually, and also test them out beforehand to weed out any duds.
