Thank you for the critique! :D I'll try to practice my line quality during the 250 boxes challenge, as you suggested and the angle of my ellipses during warm-ups. And, yes, you're right. I am a bit nervous when I try to draw a straight line, so I guess that is where the wobbling is coming from. I'll try to practice it. And, again, thanks for the time you put into the critique!

Hi! One thing - in the Table Of Ellipses, you were supposed to make a TABLE on the page, that is drawing a line several millimetres from the edge of the page, so that your ellipses would touch the table, not the edges of the page itself. It's presented around here. It's mainly for your own comfort - you won't have to pay attention to your pen slipping off the page while drawing ellipses.

Moreover, your ellipses are a bit wobbly and uneven but it might be just a matter of practice. Make sure you execute the line confidently and that you work from your shoulder. Keep it up! :)

Hi! You're doing alright, keep it up :) There is some visible wobbling to your lines, but it's not excessive, so just practice them during warm-ups, maybe re-read this part in lesson 1 (that's up to you), and you'll be fine. Good luck!

Hi! I think you're doing nice so far. The only thing I can point out is that your lines have a tendency to curve, creating some sort of an arc. That mistake is mentioned and described here: https://drawabox.com/lesson/1/9/arc

You could give it a read once more, it might be helpful. And don't worry about not nailing it now - you'll have plenty of chances to practice it during warm-ups! Good luck :)

Ellipse Master Template

Ellipse Master Template

This recommendation is really just for those of you who've reached lesson 6 and onwards.

I haven't found the actual brand you buy to matter much, so you may want to shop around. This one is a "master" template, which will give you a broad range of ellipse degrees and sizes (this one ranges between 0.25 inches and 1.5 inches), and is a good place to start. You may end up finding that this range limits the kinds of ellipses you draw, forcing you to work within those bounds, but it may still be worth it as full sets of ellipse guides can run you quite a bit more, simply due to the sizes and degrees that need to be covered.

No matter which brand of ellipse guide you decide to pick up, make sure they have little markings for the minor axes.
