Hey! I haven't completed it yet myself, so I'm not really qualified...besides, there seem to be a lot of submissions, so I don't think you're getting your critique..neither am I once I'm finished with my boxes. I think I'll just become a patron and send it for an official review.

    Hey Mangler,

Congrats on completing Lesson 1. Here are my thoughts on your submission:

Superimposed Lines Your lines are fraying a bit. This might be due to the pen though..

Ghosted Lines Slightly wobbly, but overall pretty decent line quality.

Table of Ellipses To much wobble. Remember to tilt the page to your favorite setting. And remember to draw from your shoulder.

Ellipses in Planes Planes are fine but your ellipses are deformed. I fear that you are obsessing over touching all edges instead of trusting your ghosting method. Better to overshoot all edges than loose confidence in lines (first eliminate wobble, than improve accuracy and consistency)

Funnels Not sure whether you understood the exercise. The further away you go from the center (the y-axis) your ellipses should be getting larger (keeping up with edges).

Maybe allow yourself some(just a little) elbow support, so your hand isn't completely in air, but also not fully fixed. This might make your lines more consistent. Maybe also try drawing on a tilted surface. And keep in mind to draw from your shoulder.

Rough Perspective The second page is much better, your line quality is also improving.

Rotated Boxes a bit messy but overall not the worst.

Organic Perspective best line quality I've see from you so far.

    Next Steps:

    250 Boxes.

find a suitable setting (posture, angle of approach, right angle for tilting the page)

Practise some ghosted lines for about 10 minutes before drawing, this should get you started.

    Hey ,

Congrats on completing Lesson 1. Here are my thoughts on your submission:

Superimposed Lines You're lines are fraying a bit to much at the end and in the middle. This will be important later on when adding line weight, so don't forget about it just yet

Ghosted Lines Some are arching a bit, but overall good line quality.

Table of Ellipses Some lines are wobbling, remember to always tilt the page to find that one comfortable angle.

Ellipses in Planes The panes are slightly deformed, take your time while drawing, give each line the time it deserves. Ellipses aren't consistent but you are drawing them with confidence so don't worry, accuracy will come with practice.

Funnels Feels a bit rushed, remember to ghost each ellipse enough times.

Rough Perspective also rushed. Take your time to tilt the page and ghost each line before drawing.

Rotated Boxes not the best line quality but overall it's pretty decent. Good rotation.

Organic Perspective best line quality I've see from you so far. keep it up

    Next Steps:

    250 Boxes

Practise some ghosted lines for about 10 minutes before drawing, this should get you started.

find a suitable setting (posture, angle of approach, right angle for tilting the page)

and then keep practicing drawing lines using this specific setting. If you always draw from the same position you will improve quicker. Tilting the page and ghosting is very important as well. For each new line get the page ready so you get your favorite angle, then ghost the line until you feel confident you can make it. Not 2-3 times, but as many as you feel like you need. Often a single line takes me 15-20 seconds, but I feel like it's always worth it in the end.

    Hey ,

Congrats on completing Lesson 1. Here are my thoughts on your submission:

Superimposed Lines A bit to much fraying in the middle and at the ends. This will be important later on when adding line weight, so don't forget about it just yet.

Ghosted Lines A bit wobbly. Maybe allow yourself some(just a little) elbow support, so your hand isn't completely in air, but also not fully fixed. This might make your lines more consistent. Maybe also try drawing on a tilted surface. And keep in mind to draw from your shoulder.

Table of Ellipses Not too bad. There is some fraying but that is to be expected.

Ellipses in Planes Not the best line quality for in planes but the ellipses are pretty good. You are overshooting edges a lot but it's good you are trusting your ghosts and prioritizing confidence over accuracy.

Funnels Some are a bit wobbly. Find a suitable setting (posture, angle of approach, right angle for tilting the page), this will help you improve faster.

Rough Perspective Lines are still wobbly. Always rotate the page and remember to ghost enough times.

Rotated boxes Line quality got better. No shading or line weight but I think this was optional. Rotation is good on the upper layer, but you struggled with it on the lower layer, you should have planned it out better.

Organic Perspective Decent line quality. My only issue are those questionable attempts at adding line weight. Remember to ghost those superimposed lines before you add them on top a line.

    Next Steps:

    250 Boxes

Practice some ghosted lines and superimposed lines for about 10 minutes before drawing, this should get you started.

    Hey Leone,

Congrats on completing Lesson 1. Here are my thoughts on your submission:

Superimposed Lines To much fraying in the middle and at the end of lines. This will be important later on when adding line weight, so don't forget about it just yet

Ghosted Lines Some are a bit wobbly, but overall pretty good.

Table of Ellipses Ellipses are clearly your strength. Not much to add.

Ellipses in Planes In some cases I fear you were obsessing over touching all edges instead of trusting your ghosting method. Better to overshoot all edges than loose confidence in lines (first eliminate wobble, than improve accuracy and consistency) But most of your ellipses were excellent so I shouldn't be complaining about them.

    Funnels Solid performance

Rough Perspective You had some trouble plotting your lines back to their vanishing point. Decent line quality. This exercise felt a bit rushed to me.

Rotated boxes Well done. You didn't add any line weight, but I think this was optional.

Organic Perspective Very well done. Your line quality gets better as you practice more.

    Next Steps:

    250 Boxes

    Hey Evraniya,

Congrats on completing Lesson 1. Here are my thoughts on your submission:

Superimposed Lines Good line quality. Little fraying on ends so there is still room for improvement.

Ghosted LinesVery little wobble, well done.

Table of EllipsesJust a little fraying but, overall a strong performance

Ellipses in PlanesYou should have done more of these as I can see a pretty important mistake in almost half of them. Ellipses are very accurate but I fear that you are obsessing over touching all edges instead of trusting your ghosting method. They end up somewhat distorted. Better to overshoot all edges than loose confidence in lines (first eliminate wobble, than improve accuracy and consistency)

Funnels are what's expected of them.

Rough PerspectiveLines are plotted nicely towards the Vanishing Point. Good line quality again.

Rotated boxes The lower layer looks slightly weird, i think you did it after you finished the upper one. It looks very nice though, so maybe it's fine.

Organic Perspective Pretty good, I have no issues with this one.

    250 Boxes

    Hey ,

Congrats on completing Lesson 1. Here are my thoughts on your submission:

Superimposed Lines Some fraying, but drawn confidently. These lines will be important later on when adding line weight, so don't forget about them just yet

Ghosted Lines A bit wobbly at times. Nothing to worry about yet.

Table of Ellipses Good line quality.

Ellipses in PlanesSolid performance. Good that you aren't obsessing over touching all edges. People have a tendency to overcompensate here. It's better to overshoot all edges than loose confidence in lines (first eliminate wobble, than improve accuracy and consistency). Well done.

Funnels Less consistent than the previous ones. Maybe you didn't tilt the page for each ellipse to find that one good angle.

Rough Perspective Lines are plotted nicely towards the Vanishing Point. There is some wobble and arching in your lines though. Maybe allow yourself some(just a little) elbow support, so your hand isn't completely in air, but also not fully fixed. This might make your lines more consistent. Maybe also try drawing on a tilted surface. And keep in mind to draw from your shoulder.

Rotated boxes No line weight or shading but i think this was optional. Good rotation and decent line quality for the most part.

Organic Perspective good enough. I got no issues here.

    Next Steps:

250 Boxes. Practise some ghosted lines for about 10 minutes before drawing, this should get you started.
