I always had a sneaking suspicion that I was rushing things so I am happy that you pointed it out, its mainly a mental issue because I tend to get over zealous and work myself to death and then I would suffer from bouts of burnout lol. and ill make sure to Incorporate some of the warm up exercises that you suggested, and if I find myself bored then I might do a texture here and there and try to further improve my understanding of 3D space. again, I am very grateful for your time and awesome critique, and may you also progress smoothly with the lessons that are yet to come! HOLY GOD THESE LINES ARE AMAZING!! You've done the work perfectly! you make perfect boxes and lines however im seeing a tiny weeny bit of struggle with ellipses! and from what I learnt while drawing these spherical demons is that consistency is key, keep drawing some moons and spoons and eventually you'll draw them on a whim! and try to familiarize yourself with the motion of the circle rather than the shape itself, it might be a little weird but it helps a lot. overall I dont think you should be worrying about anything because you've done everything well! you will find a ton of improvements if you keep going with the lessons. BEST OF LUCK!!! :D
This is another one of those things that aren't sold through Amazon, so I don't get a commission on it - but it's just too good to leave out. PureRef is a fantastic piece of software that is both Windows and Mac compatible. It's used for collecting reference and compiling them into a moodboard. You can move them around freely, have them automatically arranged, zoom in/out and even scale/flip/rotate images as you please. If needed, you can also add little text notes.
When starting on a project, I'll often open it up and start dragging reference images off the internet onto the board. When I'm done, I'll save out a '.pur' file, which embeds all the images. They can get pretty big, but are way more convenient than hauling around folders full of separate images.
Did I mention you can get it for free? The developer allows you to pay whatever amount you want for it. They recommend $5, but they'll allow you to take it for nothing. Really though, with software this versatile and polished, you really should throw them a few bucks if you pick it up. It's more than worth it.
