    Thank you for the critique, and for your video on planning out the ghosted points. It was very helpful to me when I was struggling with the back corners.

    Sadly that is the photo mode for my scanner! I've got a better one arriving tomorrow, but couldn't bear to wait to finally submit my work.

    I was quite pleased with my efforts to apply a thicker line weight where necessary as I drew the boxes, but I see that didn't come through very well, and it might also be poor practice. I definitely wasn't planning my hatched lines too carefully!

    I will try and take your points on board as I continue with my boxes in the lessons and my warmups.

    Well done on getting your boxes done! It's a lot of work, but as your work proves, there's a lot to be gained from it.

    Your early boxes have some wobbly lines, remember to draw from the shoulder and with confidence. Warming up with a few minutes of the ghosted planes exercise was really helpful for me. That being said, by the 200s, your line quality has much improved!

    I noticed that you weren't extending your convergence lines very far in the ealiest boxes. The further you can extend them without interfering with another box, the easier it is to see whether they were truly converging and how accurately. That gives you more information for the next set of boxes you draw. You corrected this in later boxes though, well done!

    On the subject of converging lines, sometimes you've extended your lines away from the vanishing point, towards the viewer. I think these were generally mistakes when extending your lines, but I'd recommend you to take more time at that point, as it's the when you are learning what went wrong so you can can do better next time.

    You started with very shallow foreshortening, so it was good to see you experimenting with more dramatic lines as you progressed. There were some really good examples in the later 100s!

    A good piece of advice I received was not to overcommit when drawing your back corner. If forcing your lines to meet will create invalid convergences, don't have them meet! Yes it will look wrong, but these aren't for presentation, and it is better to be practicing good perspective than trying to make wrong perspective look right.

    Adding the hatched lines on one face is great for making the boxes more readable, but you should take your time with these lines too, ghosting the movement for each one. Think of it as free practice for getting consistent straight lines!

    At around the 160 mark you started extending your lines past your ghosting points. Part of a successfully ghosted line is that it stops at the point you want it to, and consistently overshooting suggests a lack of care, perhaps driven by the desire to get those boxes done, which we can all appreciate! As I mentioned earlier, the lesson 1 line exercises are a good way to practice hitting your points exactly.

    I think you've made huge progress across this challenge, and you should be proud of your work. There's always room for improvement, but I think you've built a good foundation for continuing to Lesson 2, while revisiting some of the early exercises as warmups to maintain your line quality.

    I'd completely missed that I should be marking start/end points for every line! I had understood it to be one of the bits that are dropped as we move throguh the lesson. I've struggled with ghosting because I'm just guessing where the lines should start and end, so I'll start marking the points properly from here on out.

    Thank you for the feedback, I'll put it into practice in my warm ups, and especially in the 250 box challenge.

This is another one of those things that aren't sold through Amazon, so I don't get a commission on it - but it's just too good to leave out. PureRef is a fantastic piece of software that is both Windows and Mac compatible. It's used for collecting reference and compiling them into a moodboard. You can move them around freely, have them automatically arranged, zoom in/out and even scale/flip/rotate images as you please. If needed, you can also add little text notes.

When starting on a project, I'll often open it up and start dragging reference images off the internet onto the board. When I'm done, I'll save out a '.pur' file, which embeds all the images. They can get pretty big, but are way more convenient than hauling around folders full of separate images.

Did I mention you can get it for free? The developer allows you to pay whatever amount you want for it. They recommend $5, but they'll allow you to take it for nothing. Really though, with software this versatile and polished, you really should throw them a few bucks if you pick it up. It's more than worth it.
