My brush pen ran out so I used a pencil for the shadows on the organic intersections.

Still some mistakes in this one but I think I improved a lot during this one. Please let me know what you think.

Also here is the reference for the second crayfish, its the one at the top of the page. I couldn't find the ref for the first one.

Sorry about that. Also the half drawing is a redo of the abdomen from the first crayfish. The first attempt in the full drawing turned out realy bad but I felt like I learned a lot from it and could do better.

    Ok, here they are.

    First crayfish:

Decided take some time to practice drawing the abdomen then redrew it on a separate page

I intentionally didn't wrap the "armor" around the bottom of the abdomen because that's how it appears in the reference image I used. is this fine or should i have wrapped it around anyway?

    Hermit crabs:

I caught myself rushing through the first one so I set it aside and really tried to slow down on the next one.

The second hermit crab took me a lot less time to draw than these usually take, Im hoping this is just because its simpler to draw but please let me know what you think.

    Second crayfish:

I still have a hard time with drawing forms accurately, they often come out as different sizes or shapes than I intended. Iv been improving on this slowly as I draw more but for some reason I was really struggling with it on this one.

    Ghost crab:

I feel like there was more I should have added to this one but Im not sure what.

    Other notes:

Iv had a lot of free time the past few days and have been doing a lot of drawing. Something Iv noticed is how much worse I am at making scratchy lines while drawing these lessons, its not as bad when Im just drawing for fun. I assume this is because Im more relaxed when drawing for fun.

Also wanted to say thanks for being patient with me during this lesson and not just pushing me through to the next one when Im not ready for it. I really appreciate it.

Apparently I lost count at some point and drew one to many, oh well. Also thanks for taking the time to reply to my partial submission.

Sorry for the partial submission but I have a few questions about these drawings and a few notes Id like your opinion on.

The organic forms arent perfect but I think I can see Improvement. I tried drawing circles for the ends on the first form on each page to warm up which I think helped.

One problem I'm having with forms in general thats noticeable in my drawings is form accuracy. You pointed out in the original post that there is tapering in many of the forms, Im trying to draw my forms the same width the whole way through but they still come out with tapering and stretching. You can also see that the circles I drew as guides turned out more like ovals.

I looked through the lesson and demos again and I think this new drawing is much better than the last ones. Im wondering if theres anything I missed that I should or shouldnt be doing.

There is still a tiny bit of scratchy lines, mostly in the legs but over all Im doing better about it.

I tried adding line weight to the shrimp drawing, I've only ever really done line weight digitally. Some of it turned out ok but a lot of it came out looking other wobbly or scratchy. Any advice on how I should be approaching this? would it be a good idea to use a brush pen for adding line weight?

I think the proportions also came out better in the shrimp, the only glaring issues is the "horn" on top is too big.

please let me know if there is anything i missed.

I noticed a bit of chicken scratching on the last two pages but overall I think Im doing better about it.

I really focused on slowing down while doing these, Im a very impatient person in general so Ill definitely need to keep working on this. Probably should have taken a few more breaks during the last two pages but this didn't occur to me till after I was done smh.

While drawing slower I noticed my lines where much more accurate however they came out wobbly. I experimented with trying to find a balance between the two but had no luck. Any advice on this?

Like the Staedtlers, these also come in a set of multiple weights - the ones we use are F. One useful thing in these sets however (if you can't find the pens individually) is that some of the sets come with a brush pen (the B size). These can be helpful in filling out big black areas.

Still, I'd recommend buying these in person if you can, at a proper art supply store. They'll generally let you buy them individually, and also test them out beforehand to weed out any duds.
