Hello, I will be critiquing your work

    Lines

    • starting with your superimposed lines these are off to a good start. You are clearly keeping a defined starting point. I think you could benifit from spending a little more time ghosting and remember to prioritize flow over accuracy.

    • the initial ghosting lines are a little wobbly but moving down they are looking confident.

    • looks like you haven't uploaded ghosted planes without ellipses. You were supposed to upload 2 pages of ghosted planes and 2 pages of ellipses in planes seperately. I am going to let you off this time but be careful while uploading homework in the future. overall the planes with the ellipses have turned out good.

    Ellipses

    • the ellipses in the table are drawn 2-3 times but some of them are looking a little wobbly. This is probably happening because you are more concerned with accuracy but always prioritize flow over accuracy. Again with your ellipses try spending a little more time ghosting.

In the funnel exercise most of the ellipses are aligned with the minor axis but you should try varying the degree of your ellipses.

Ellipses in the table are turning out good. some of them are coming out of the boundry of planes but this should improve with practice.

    Boxes

    • the plotted perspective looks great, nothing to mention here.

-in the rough perspective you have drawn more than one line for the edges of some boxes but you should always avoid this. Also the estimations for vanishing point is a bit off but this should also improve with practice.

-you rotated boxes are looking good and I can see that you have commited to the linework here a lot better.

    • lastly in organic perspective the boxes are turning out good and there are some overshooting lines but that should also improve with practice.

Overall the exercises of this lesson are done quite neatly.

Always use this lesson in your warmup routine.

    Next Steps:

I'm marking your lesson as complete and you can move on. Good job :)

Hello, I will be critiquing your work.

    Lines

    • starting with your superimposed lines most of them are drawn confidently. Some of the longer lines are arching a bit in the middle but that should improve with practice.

    • the ghosted lines are looking confident.

    • your ghosted planes are also turning out good.

    Ellipses

    • the ellipses in the table are drawn confidently and 2-3 times. Overall this is also done nicely.

    • the ellipses in the planes are also drawn 2-3 times but some of them are a little wobbly and shooting a little out of plane but this should also improve with practice.

    • in the funnel exercise all of the ellipses are drawn correctly but some ellipses are not aligned to the minor axis and you should also aim to vary the degree of ellipses. Otherwise this turned out good.

    Boxes

    • your rough perspective is looking good but the estimation for the vanishing points are a bit off but overall nicely done

    • the rotated boxes exercise is looking confident and are also rotating.

    • the boxes in the organic perspective are drawn confidently and are converging accordingly.

Overall the exercises of this lesson are done quiet neatly

Always use these lessons in your warmup routine.

Hello, I will be critiquing your work

    Lines

-starting with your superimposed lines, I see most of them are confident but some are wobbling especially the curved and longer lines and you should prioritize flow over accuracy. I can see in the longer lines you are leaving some lines in the middle but after starting a line take it all the way and then move on.

-In your ghosted lines the initial lines are a little wobbly but when moving down they are looking confident.

-Ghosted planes are looking a lot better and I can see that you commited to the linework here a lot better.

    Ellipses

    • The ellipses in the table and planes are looking confident and drawn 2 to 3 times. The position of some ellipses are a little off so keep their position in mind while warming up.

-most of the ellipses in funnel exercise are turning out better. I think you would benifit from doing a little extra practice with your ellipse exercise when you do warmups.

    Boxes

-your rough perspective is turning out nicely, but I see that the estimations for the vanishing points are a bit off. This should also improve with practice. Also edges of some boxes are looking a bit wobbly so you should put more time ghosting them.

    • your rotated boxes exercise looks nice and confident. Something that may help is giving yourself more room to ghost the lines and adding hatching marks to define the shapes more, otherwise this turned out good.

-lastly the organic perspective exercise is looking confident and I see that you attempted the rotation of the boxes.

    • Always use this lesson in your warmup routine.

    Next Steps:

I'm going to go ahead and mark your lesson as complete and you can move on. Good job :)

Thank you Doctormein for critiquing my homework and I will make sure to work on my degree shift, outline, and floating sausage. Thanks again.

Thank you for critiquing my lesson. Do I need to draw lines and ellipses daily as warmup?

Cottonwood Arts Sketchbooks

These are my favourite sketchbooks, hands down. Move aside Moleskine, you overpriced gimmick. These sketchbooks are made by entertainment industry professionals down in Los Angeles, with concept artists in mind. They have a wide variety of sketchbooks, such as toned sketchbooks that let you work both towards light and towards dark values, as well as books where every second sheet is a semitransparent vellum.
