Lesson 1: Lines, Ellipses and Boxes

I know that there are more pages of some excersises, but i had to do some of them again since sometimes it didn't go so well during the first try.
Hi, Overall it seems you understand the assignments. There are some things you could work on.
Superimposed Lines: These are fine for a start, but watch out for your lines flairing out.
Ghosted Lines: These are good as well, as you continue this exercise work on accuracy and not having a slight bend.
Ghosted Planes: These are okay, just work on accuracy over time.
Ellipses: These could use some improvement. Try to stay more in the borders and prevent overlapping with the ellipses. I also would like to see more variation, a lot of these were closer to a circle.
Ellipses in Planes: These are fairly good, just focus on getting it more neat and even within the plane in future warmups.
Funnels: Good job on keeping the ellipses center line the same, there was only one were it went off a bit. Next time maybe make the ellipses a bit smaller so you can fit more in and work on not overlapping.
Plotted Perspective: There is a few vertical lines that are a bit crooked. Also the hatching is very sloppy. Take your time! That sloppy hatching makes it look worst than it is.
Rough Perspective: Overall pretty good job at close to the vanishing point. Lines are a bit scratchy on one or two boxes. Work on accuracy over time.
Rotated Boxes: There quite a few minor problems. I'm guessing the scratch marks are misplaced lines? If, so ghosting and planning could help with that. You have some boxes that don't have backs drawn and you're missing boxes. I think you understood it enough to go on, but if I were you maybe revisit one more time.
Organic Perspective: I would of like to see more variety of perspective shifts and tilts, but you seem to understand it well enough. There is a few wonky ones, but that's okay for now. I see you made more misplaced marks, just plan more ahead of execution and that could help. Again sloppy hatching, make it neater!
Conclusion: I would revisit organic perspective maybe one more time with my suggestions. You can redo the rotated boxes if you want to, but I know it is annoying and a bit confusing. you must have NEAT HATCHING before you move on to the 250 box challenge. I think you did alright, only a few things you did badly, mostly the hatching.
Next Steps:
Head into the 250 box challenge when your hatching is not so sloppy. Good job and good luck! :)
This is another one of those things that aren't sold through Amazon, so I don't get a commission on it - but it's just too good to leave out. PureRef is a fantastic piece of software that is both Windows and Mac compatible. It's used for collecting reference and compiling them into a moodboard. You can move them around freely, have them automatically arranged, zoom in/out and even scale/flip/rotate images as you please. If needed, you can also add little text notes.
When starting on a project, I'll often open it up and start dragging reference images off the internet onto the board. When I'm done, I'll save out a '.pur' file, which embeds all the images. They can get pretty big, but are way more convenient than hauling around folders full of separate images.
Did I mention you can get it for free? The developer allows you to pay whatever amount you want for it. They recommend $5, but they'll allow you to take it for nothing. Really though, with software this versatile and polished, you really should throw them a few bucks if you pick it up. It's more than worth it.
